I am very grateful to have spent two months at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore, as an Academic Visitor in Akira Endo’s team.

Having worked closely with Akira Endo and Sung-mok Jung for many years, it was great to continue our project discussions in Singapore. During my stay, I led a project on mpox clade IIb and had the opportunity to present it at the CERM (Centre for Epidemic Research and Modelling) research round.

Alongside the research visit, I also completed a clinical elective in Dermatology at National University Hospital (NUH). It was a very valuable opportunity to learn in a clinical environment while continuing research discussions and modelling work at SSHSPH.

Overall, it was a very rewarding few months filled with research, meetings and many stimulating discussions. Huge thanks to Akira, Sungmok and everyone at SSHSPH and CERM for the warm welcome, valuable feedback and continued collaboration. I am looking forward to continuing this work.
